Turkish Cosmetic Firms Eye Ghana as Distribution Hub at Legacy Expo 2026

Leading Turkish beauty and cosmetics firms, including Ojuvi Perfume House, are actively seeking Ghanaian distributors at the 10th annual Legacy Expo, which opened on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). The three-day trade fair aims to forge new business partnerships, with Turkish exhibitors prioritizing the expansion of their West African market presence.

Turkish Presence Dominates Expo Floor

This year’s Legacy Expo is characterized by a significant contingent of Turkish companies eager to establish a foothold in Ghana. The primary objective for many is to secure reliable local distributors for their diverse range of beauty and cosmetic products.

Among the prominent exhibitors is Ojuvi Perfume House, a premium designer fragrance brand operating under M3 Cosmetics. The company has generated considerable interest from Ghanaian entrepreneurs and retailers by announcing its strategic search for distribution partners to bolster its presence across West Africa.

Ojuvi Perfume House’s Strategic Expansion

Ojuvi Perfume House is a subsidiary of Empas Group, a global entity renowned for its expertise in special printing and visual technologies. Empas has a distinguished history, holding the top position in the Sgia World Golden Image competition for six consecutive years and supplying textile solutions to multinational corporations since 1984.

Leveraging this industrial strength, M3 Cosmetics was established in 2014 with the ambition to create a globally competitive beauty brand. The company successfully launched Ojuvi, expanding into perfumes, colognes, and essential beauty items. Ojuvi has since expanded its reach, exporting to markets in Europe, Asia, and Africa, while also establishing flagship stores and appointing international distributors.

Mr. Ata Dogan, General Manager of Ojuvi Perfume House, confirmed at the Expo that Ghana is a key focus for the company’s future investments. “We will conduct a comprehensive feasibility study in Ghana,” Mr. Dogan stated.

He further elaborated on the company’s potential expansion plans. “If the results are positive, our next step will be to set up a manufacturing plant here to produce our products locally for the West African market.” This move would represent a significant investment in local production capabilities.

Ghana’s Appeal as a Business Hub

Mr. Dogan highlighted Ghana’s attractive business environment, citing its stable political climate and peaceful atmosphere as crucial factors for long-term investment. “Ghana gives us confidence. The stability here is important for sustainable investment,” he remarked.

While Ojuvi already has established operations in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana’s specific advantages are making it a preferred hub for regional expansion and potential manufacturing.

Legacy Expo: A Decade of Connecting Markets

The Legacy Expo, previously known as the African Makeup & Beauty Fair, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. It has evolved into West Africa’s leading trade fair for the beauty, cosmetics, and wellness sectors, facilitating connections between international brands and local distributors, retailers, and consumers.

The substantial Turkish participation this year reflects a growing global trend: international beauty brands are increasingly viewing Ghana not only as a significant consumer market but also as a potential manufacturing base for the wider African continent.

For Ghanaian entrepreneurs, the Expo presents significant opportunities for distributorship agreements, joint ventures, and technology transfer within a sector poised for continued growth across Africa. The fair features exhibitions, business-to-business matchmaking sessions, masterclasses, and panel discussions focused on the future of the beauty and wellness industry in Africa.

The Legacy Expo continues until Friday, June 5, 2026, at UPSA.

Rebecca Donkor, CEO of Makeup Ghana, expressed gratitude to the exhibitors and sponsors during the opening ceremony. The event is organized in partnership with Ace Group.
