Unilever Ghana Distributes GH¢62.5 Million Dividend to Shareholders Amidst Strong Financial Performance

Unilever Ghana PLC announced a final dividend of GH¢1.00 per share, totaling GH¢62.5 million, to its shareholders following approval at the company’s 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, June 5. This significant payout stems from a robust financial performance in the 2025 financial year, during which the fast-moving consumer goods company achieved a profit after tax of GH¢96 million, a notable increase from GH¢58 million in 2024.

Context of Strong Financials

The company’s improved financial results are attributed to a combination of factors. Enhanced operational efficiency, successful execution of market strategies, and sustained consumer demand for its diverse brand portfolio played crucial roles. Furthermore, prudent cost management measures implemented throughout the year contributed significantly to the bottom line.

Shareholder Rewards and Company Confidence

This dividend distribution marks one of Unilever Ghana’s strongest shareholder rewards in recent years. Investors have responded positively, viewing the payout as a testament to the company’s resilience, profitability, and commitment to delivering long-term value. The dividend increase represents a substantial 67% rise compared to the previous year, a significant achievement in the current market landscape.

During the AGM, Unilever Ghana’s Board Chairman, Charles Boakye Nimako, reiterated the company’s dedication to sustainable growth. He emphasized that shareholders would continue to benefit directly from the company’s successes. Mr. Nimako highlighted that Unilever Ghana has a consistent track record of increasing dividend payments year-on-year.
