The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Ghana’s Central Region is urgently appealing for humanitarian assistance for the fishing community of Moree, located in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District. Over the past three days, severe tidal waves have battered the coastal area, displacing numerous families and causing widespread destruction to homes and property.
Community Devastation and Immediate Needs
The Central Regional NADMO Director, Kwesi Dawood, highlighted the critical need for immediate relief items to support residents who have lost their homes. The recurring nature of these tidal wave incidents has left the community vulnerable and in dire need of both emergency aid and long-term solutions.
