US Citizen Convicted of Operating Secret Chinese Police Station in NYC

A U.S. citizen, Lu Jianwang, 64, was convicted this week by a federal jury in New York of acting as an illegal agent for China’s Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and obstructing justice. He operated a clandestine police station in Manhattan’s Chinatown in early 2022, aimed at targeting Chinese dissidents within the United States.
