The Accra Regional Police Command has corrected earlier reports, clarifying that no arrests have been made in connection with the fire that engulfed parts of the Accra Central Police Barracks on Wednesday, June 3. Investigations into the cause of the blaze are actively underway.
Investigation Underway, Arrest Reports Denied
Contrary to initial statements released shortly after the inferno, a subsequent update from the police on June 4, issued by Superintendent of Police and Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Ms. Juliana Obeng, explicitly stated that all previous reports suggesting an arrest were inaccurate.
