Four individuals have been remanded into police custody by the Wenchi District Court following a significant robbery attack that saw GH¢200,000 stolen. The incident occurred near Brohani in the Tain District of the Bono Region, with the arrests stemming from an intelligence-led operation by the Nsawkaw District Police Command. The accused, Yakubu Abuu, Ibrahim Ahmed, Abass Saliki, and Ibrahim Abdallah, appeared before the court on May 11, 2026.

The robbery victim, Michael Kelly Kemever, a 42-year-old businessman from Hani, reported the attack on May 8, 2026. He presented to the police with visible injuries, including deep cuts to his waist and right shoulder. The attack took place on the evening of May 7, 2026, around 8:45 pm, as Kemever was traveling on a motorcycle as a pillion rider with his apprentice. They were en route from Brohani to Hani.

They were allegedly armed with cutlasses and ambushed the motorcycle. The attackers forcibly took a travelling bag containing GH¢200,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. An initial breakthrough came with the arrest of Yakubu Abuu on May 8, 2026, at approximately 4:30 pm. During interrogation, Abuu reportedly confessed his involvement in the robbery. He also provided information that led to the subsequent apprehension of his alleged accomplices at various hideouts in Brohani and Hani.
