Accra, Ghana – May 22, 2026 – Agritech innovator Evans Kyere-Mensah urged Ghanaian youth on Friday to redefine their views on agriculture, presenting it not as a last resort but as a fertile ground for innovation, enterprise, and significant wealth creation. Speaking at the Ghana Youth Agriculture Summit 2026, Mr. Kyere-Mensah emphasized that the sector represents a critical opportunity for the nation’s future, a future that lies within the young people present at the gathering.
Rethinking the Narrative
For many young Ghanaians, the allure of success has traditionally pointed towards corporate offices in urban centers like Accra or opportunities abroad. This perception often relegated agriculture to a fallback career, a notion Mr. Kyere-Mensah vehemently challenged. He stated that this mindset has led many to overlook agriculture’s potential as a primary driver of economic growth and personal prosperity.
