Ghanaian gospel artiste Adom Kiki, nominated for TGMA New Artiste of the Year, has announced the resolution of a lawsuit concerning his cover of the song ‘Gyataburuwa’. The legal dispute involved the late Osei Boakye and was brought to a peaceful close following an agreement with Boakye’s family, as confirmed by Kiki on May 6, 2026.
Legal Dispute Settled with Osei Boakye’s Family
Adom Kiki, born Emmanuel Obeng Opoku, addressed the ‘Gyataburuwa’ lawsuit during an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Time show with George Quaye. He explained that prior to releasing the cover version with Joe Mettle, significant efforts were made to identify and contact the original song’s owners.
