BRAC International has officially launched its comprehensive Social Development Programme in Ghana’s capital, Accra, aiming to foster social justice, gender equality, and inclusive development, with a particular emphasis on empowering vulnerable communities. The initiative signifies an amplified commitment to supporting Ghanaian communities, focusing on poverty reduction and self-reliance, especially for women and girls.
Government Endorses Partnership for Inclusive Growth

Congratulating BRAC International and its partners, Dr. Kpakpah praised the organization’s people-centred and community-based approach. She acknowledged BRAC International’s global reputation for innovative interventions in critical sectors such as education, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, healthcare, youth development, and livelihood support, which have positively impacted millions across Africa and beyond.
The Ministry’s mandate aligns closely with BRAC International’s mission, particularly in advancing gender equality, safeguarding children’s rights, strengthening social protection systems, and supporting vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities. Dr. Kpakpah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development for all Ghanaians, in line with national frameworks and policies.

BRAC International employs an integrated social development model designed to empower women and families to overcome poverty and build resilient livelihoods. This model combines direct social development initiatives with social enterprise and financial inclusion interventions.
The programme rollout in Ghana aims to address multifaceted challenges faced by vulnerable populations. By providing access to resources, skills training, and financial services, BRAC International seeks to create sustainable pathways out of poverty.
The organization’s approach emphasizes community participation and ownership, ensuring that interventions are tailored to local contexts and needs. This ensures long-term impact and sustainability of development efforts.
