The Ghana Police Service, alongside dignitaries and family, bid a final farewell to the late Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye, former Inspector General of Police, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the State House. A Life of Discipline and Integrity
Delivering the sermon, Right Reverend Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye underscored the importance of resilience, hard work, and discipline as pathways to success. Quoting from Hebrews 12:1–6, he highlighted how perseverance and a diligent approach, free from laziness, have propelled many to great heights.
Dr. Kwakye drew parallels with the life of Jesus Christ, who endured hardship for future glory, urging mourners to shed impediments and press towards their goals. He described Mr. Quaye’s life as a testament to discipline, integrity, and hard work, encouraging attendees to emulate his example by demonstrating patience, perseverance, and endurance in completing their endeavors, both physical and spiritual.
Tributes Reflect a ‘Gentle Giant’
A consistent theme emerging from tributes was the late Mr. Quaye’s profound humility and integrity. A tribute read on behalf of his children described him as a man of exemplary character who imparted godly ways and taught them to treat others with dignity, irrespective of their social standing.
Former IGP John Kwabla Kudalor, speaking for retired IGPs, recognized Mr. Quaye as the 20th IGP and a distinguished, disciplined, professional, and visionary leader. He was fondly remembered as a
