The Nkwanta District Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the fatal shooting of Thomas Adon, a 36-year-old man, in Keri, Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region. The incident occurred on June 8, 2026, after reports of an attack on the victim.
Investigation Underway Following Fatal Shooting
A Joint Police-Military Taskforce was immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving information about the shooting. Officers discovered the body of Thomas Adon lying in a pool of blood, exhibiting multiple suspected gunshot wounds, confirming a violent incident.
The crime scene was thoroughly searched, yielding significant evidence. Investigators recovered a piece of wood, fifteen spent cartridges, and five live BB and AA cartridges. These items have been secured for forensic analysis and ballistic examinations to aid the investigation.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Mortuary in Nkwanta. It will undergo a post-mortem examination to help determine the precise cause and circumstances surrounding his death.
